Please email info@P3RSIANS.com and let us know more about you.

Typically, the process is thus:

  1. BulletEmail inquiry/ response with information (including pricing details)

  2. BulletPhone call to learn about each other (I am interested in what brought you to the point that you are ready to adopt and your history with Persians and Himmies)

  3. BulletVisit to meet the kittens, see our home and cattery, and opportunity to get detailed questions answered on both sides.  We have clients who live too far to travel - we will work with you specially to get the purpose of this step included

  4. Bullet(If you) Adopt - this step lasts forever: love, learn, and enjoy your new family member

This is a good opportunity to address our ongoing promise to you and our kittens & cats: we will always take them back for rescue and rehoming if something unexpected should come up in your life.  It’s tragic enough that rare circumstances should dictate this sad decision, so know that we are respectful and discreet.

Service     This is a tall order.  We believe True Customer Service is hard to come by in this day and age.  For instance... many of our clients have an existing pet when they come to us.  We will help give you assistance for them, too!  As long as both are given security and enough time to acclimatize (paws under the door, a stepped introduction, etc), we've had great success placing kittens with existing animals (dogs, cats, birds, etc!).  We want to be sure your current furry doesn’t feel intimidated and we know our new kitten will be more adaptable to an existing 'hierarchy'.  Clients remain in contact long after they make payment - and P3RSIANS wants to be there every step of the way to make sure you have answers and a helping hand and our kitten is in an optimal position to integrate to your home.

Health     We don't in- or line-breed because we believe it’s genetically healthier for the parent and grandparents to be unrelated. Our breeding cats are all tested by UC Davis and found “N/N” (negative) for the gene which causes PKD (polycystic kidney disease; a deadly genetic disease once found in 60-70% of Persians & Himalayans!!).    We offer documentation to prove this claim; something not all catteries can do.  We produce both "doll face" (traditional) kittens, as well as “show standard” (teddy-bear), but are careful not to breed to extremes which result in health problems (i.e. eating/ breathing problems from too-flattened faces and noses).  Lastly, our parent Pedigrees are only provided by the CFA (and where possible we use genetics testing to prove accuracy) because we’ve found there are breeders who still muddy purebred histories with falsified records and make unintentional (or deliberate) mistakes.

Home & Handling     Our cats and their environment (aka. our home) are clean, comfortable, and soothing.  We feed the best foods and are abreast of dietary research, give purified water, use sterile litters, and do not cage our four-legged wonders!  Kittens are born in our home under 24-hour watch and raised as part of our family hence their personalities are special and individual.  We are proud of our sociable, people-oriented cats who follow you around wanting to play and cuddle.  We take pleasure in providing all pictures taken while the kitten grows so you have the progress of your little one documented - a treasure for years to come.  Kittens from our lines have been photographed for books, websites, calendars, & greeting cards, but our pride shines through when they are taken home and treasured, as you can see from our Testimonials.

Future     Adding a new kitten is like adding a new family member.  We would love for this little entity to be with you for 20 years or more.  Our sincere hope is you don't choose one based on price alone, because you often get what you pay for.  If your kitten isn't healthy or comes up with a genetic problem the vet costs (and heartbreak) can be substantial.  More important should be your desire for a special kitten who will grow into a personable indoor cat and to work with a breeder with integrity who will be available as a future resource.  We offer rescue services to our clients which we feel expresses our lifetime commitment to our bred cats.

Adoption Fees     The actual prices for quality kittens are higher than you would find at a pet store or ‘backyard breeder’ for good reason; medicine & veterinary care, premium food/ litter, personal handling and problem-solving, proven lineages, and professionalism all take time and money, and are a good upfront investment into a quality companion rather than paying exorbitant health bills later, or being frustrated by a lack of support.  In a society where we regularly plunk down a thousand for the latest flatscreen which is defunct in two years, don’t you agree that it’s a small price to pay for a beloved family member who one hopes will be with you for two decades?

Full Disclosure     Our first Persian; Austin, a Seal Point Himalayan - cost a full mortgage payment 14 years ago.  We diligently sacrificed and saved until we could afford him.  We have since paid up to four times that amount for each breeder cat in order to ensure we are breeding for health and temperament.  A pedigreed cat is, at the end of the day, a luxury item...  There are vehement voices who narrowly see only that there are too many cats who need rescue at the Humane Society (we have two: Geisha and Wilf!).  There is a major difference between our cats and only one who has had the privilege of caring for a Persian will know what that is.  You be the judge!

We hope this helps provide a low-pressure explanation of our fee structure and the rationale behind them:
